Financial Coaching Training for Agency Staff

Looking for Professional Development that can assist you in working with clients?

Consider attending the 5/20/11 Financial Coaching Training here in Oshkosh!

What is Financial Coaching exactly? Financial coaching means providing regular one-on-one sessions with clients in order to ‘coach’ performance improvements to meet goals mutually set by the coach and client. Coaching is differentiated from counseling in that coaches are not “experts,” but instead they provide encouragement and monitoring over advice, and do so in a process largely driven by the client. Coaching is not designed to be a therapeutic relationship or to manage a crisis. Coaching is well suited to asset building programs because clients often need encouragement and support to adhere to positive financial behaviors. A coach can provide a much-needed boost to self-control along with the flexibility to change strategies as the client’s financial situation changes. Coaching is different from counseling or mentoring and focuses more on ongoing behavior change, executive attention and goal setting and goal monitoring. Read more on financial coaching here. Making Your Money Work for You-FREE Workshop

See below for information on an upcoming workshop opportunity offered by UW Extension. We appreciate your referrals!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TOO MUCH MONTH AND NOT ENOUGH MONEY?
Wondering where your paycheck goes? Afraid to open up those credit card and bank statements? Then this workshop is for you!

The Winnebago County UW-Extension is sponsoring a workshop on the basics of creating a successful spending plan. “Making Your Money Work for You” will be held on Tuesday, May 17th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Father Carr’s Place 2B, 1965 Oshkosh Ave., Oshkosh WI. Kristi Cutts, Winnebago County UW-Extension Family Living Educator, will be the presenter.

This workshop will cover creating a spending plan that includes paying off debt and increasing your savings. One of the keys to a spending plan is having a system in place to track your spending. Regardless of how much money a person earns, if they don’t know how much money they spend every month, they will never know if they are living within their income.
To help stretch your budget, this workshop is free and open to all.

Pre-registration is requested by calling the Winnebago County UW-Extension office at 920-232-1973 or e-mail kristi.cutts@ces.uwex.edu.
