Get Checking will be offered Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 9:00AM-12:00PM (NOON) at UW Credit Union (inside Reeve Memorial Union) 748 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh WI. The educational program can help those such as young adults who have not yet opened a checking account, or provide a fresh start to consumers who have had past problems with their account. Consumers who successfully complete the course, receive a certificate that they may take to any of the participating financial institutions and an account is opened under agreed-upon conditions.
Participating Winnebago County Financial Institutions include: M&I (a part of BMO Harris Group), Citizens First Credit Union, Capital Credit Union, Community First Credit Union, and UW Credit Union (located in Reeve Memorial Union on the UWO Campus).

Rent Smart Workshop Offered 8/7 & 8/9 Register Today
Rent Smart is a two-part class that will be offered Tuesday, August 7th and Thursday, August 9th, 2012, from 9:00AM-12:00PM NOON at the Oshksoh Area Community Pantry, located at 2551 Jackson St., Oshkosh WI 54901.
Rent Smart is a tenant training program that provides practical education to help people acquire and maintain decent housing. Rent Smart emphasizes skills that can help tenants avoid legal confrontations. It stresses tenant responsibilities and the advantage of a quality landlord/tenant relationship opposed to an adversarial one.
Tenants learn about and practice skills that better prepare them for renting. By learning what’s expected up front, tenants can prepare ahead to demonstrate that they can be a good tenant.
