Creative Milwaukee Warming Shelter / Prayer Sessions

The Milwaukee JS posted a story of Milwaukee churches opening their doors for all-night prayer sessions, thereby avoiding shelter regulations and providing a warm, safe place for homeless folks. According to the story:

"As temperatures dipped into the single digits Tuesday night, four homeless men and women abandoned their camp sites Tuesday to hunker down inside a Cudahy church.

St. Mark Lutheran Church is one of at least two congregations in southern Milwaukee County that are opening their doors for all night prayer services this week in an effort to keep the area's homeless people from freezing to death.

"It wouldn't be the first time people fell asleep in church," Pastor Mark Thompson said"
