OPEN HOUSE AT COURT TOWER APARTMENTS
Wednesday, October 23 and November 6, 2013

100 Court Street
Visitor parking is on the street, in the Leach Amphitheater lot, or catch Oshkosh Transit bus 1.

Ten months ago Oshkosh Housing Authority began a complete transformation of Court Tower Apartments.  The dated 1974 apartments were stripped bare, expanded, and rebuilt with accessibility, comfort and efficiency in mind.  Already 70% leased, Court Tower is now inviting prospective residents to see the progress and tour a model apartment.

Court Tower has been redesigned with current and future needs of aging seniors in mind.  The dust hasn’t fully settled, but the final 27 apartments will be available in late December.  Interested elderly applicants will need to apply soon to be considered for the pending vacancies.  Low-income persons fifty years of age and older are eligible to apply, but preferences are given to residents of Winnebago County, applicants over 62 years of age, and veterans.  Those who currently receive or need assistance with activities of daily living are especially invited to apply and tour as Court Tower staff can now arrange for care services to aid residents.

Low-income Housing Tax Credits exceeding $19 million dollars were sold to First Sterling Financial and the proceeds fund re-construction.   Court Tower now includes balconies, garages, in-unit washer and dryer, energy-efficiency, easy-access and easy-maintenance design.  Each apartment now offers central heating and cooling under resident control for ultimate comfort.  All utilities are included along with basic cable and internet.  Modern new furnishings abound in the dining room, cafĂ©/lounge, home theater, fitness center, personal-care salon and support services office, providing private and social options.

The tax credits were awarded in 2011 and 2012 by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority leading to Mixed Finance approval by the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development which requires new applicants to be fifty years of age or greater.  Oshkosh Housing Authority also benefited from two Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago forgivable loans thanks to partners BMO Harris Bank and Bank First National.

If you, or a loved one, would like to trade another dark cold winter, mostly alone, for a bright warm friendly new neighborhood drop by for a quick tour.  Come see what modern convenience, universal design and accessibility can add to your future at Court Tower Apartments, 100 Court St., Oshkosh.  Open Houses are set for October 23 and November 6, between 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.

Eligible residents pay rent based on 30% of adjusted income.  For more information, contact:   Oshkosh Housing Authority, 600 Merritt Ave, Oshkosh, WI  54901, or visit  www.ohawcha.org.   Open House questions should be directed to property manager Robert Poeschl, Court Tower Apartments, 303-5400, bobp@ohawcha.org;  or leasing coordinator Anne Ruby, 424-1470 x 123, anner@ohawcha.org.
