Position Open-Winnebago County Housing Authority

FSS/Grant Writer position  The Winnebago County Housing Authority is looking for a full time Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator/Grant writer.  The FSS program coordinator serves more than 35 families with Employment, Education, Money Management, Basic Life Necessities, housing counseling and Homeownership with the eventual goal of self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities include ensuring program consistency through ongoing assessment; coordinating and measuring program goals and objectives; ensuring regulatory compliance; fund raising, research and development of grants available to all Housing Authority programs; case management; monitoring client progress; networking and communicating with community agencies, private industry and the general public; organize and coordinate program committees, workshops and social activities.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, or related field preferred.  One or more years of experience in direct case management or similar experience working with low-income families.  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required to establish effective working relationships with staff, clients, and other social service providers.  Grant Writing Experience and knowledge of self-sufficiency as it related to HUD’s Section 8 and Public Housing programs are preferred.  Valid driver’s license required.
Considerable latitude is allowed for independent judgment.  Excellent benefits and salary package available.  Open until position is filled.
