January Community Outreach Day

Good Evening!

I wanted to send out this invitation as soon as possible in recruiting community agencies to attend our Fourth Community Resource Fair located upstairs in the gym here at Most Blessed Sacrament Church. This event is open to the whole community and especially focused towards those who are homeless or near homeless. At these events there are representatives from all of your programs, free haircuts, and a free breakfast.

For those who usually attend the monthly Outreach Day's at the shelter, I just wanted to also make you aware that we will no longer be having an Outreach Day on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017. This Community Resource Fair on Thursday, January 26th, 2017, will be taking place instead. There will still be a resource fair on Wednesday, December 28th, 2016, from 8-9am.

These resource fairs are held after the Point In Time Count in January/July.The PIT (Point In Time) Count is a state-wide count in which communities go out and count homeless and/or unsheltered people.

We will be hosting another Community Resource Fair for the next Point In Time Count here in January 2017. We are expecting about 50 people plus to come through this Community Resource Fair. For this we are asking your organizations to bring flyers about their programs, set up a display, and to try to have representatives there to answer questions. Community members will walk around the gym and visit with the community agencies in attendance (you!). There will be a free hot breakfast provided once again and free haircuts will be given out by volunteer hairstylists.

Date: Thursday, January 26th, 2017

Time: 9:00am-11:00am

Location: Most Blessed Sacrament Gym (above the Day By Day Warming Shelter) at 449 High Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901

We are asking that organizations should start setting up by 8:30am, and the event will not end any sooner then 11am. Let me know if you need any special accommodations!

If you have any questions about this event feel free to email me at help@warmingshelter.com. We would like to hear back from you as soon as possible or by Wednesday, January 18th, 2017, at the latest. Please let us know how many representatives might be coming for the event. We cannot do this event without your help!

As soon as our posters for the event are ready we will pass them along to you, so that you can post them in your office. We would greatly appreciate it if you could recruit some of your clients in attending the event.

If you know of any other programs that serve low- to no- income clients, please share the invitation of this event to those you believe would benefit the homeless or near homeless population here in the greater Oshkosh area.
