New Medicare Cards are coming!
We are reaching out to give you an opportunity to learn more about the new Medicare cards that are arriving from April 2018-April 2019. As you may know, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is removing Social Security numbers from Medicare cards to prevent fraud, fight identity theft, and keep taxpayer dollars safe. As an organization that serves the homeless, some of whom may have Medicare, we thought information about the upcoming changes could be helpful to your community. During our webinar, we will cover the background of the New Medicare Card, the implementation of new Medicare ID numbers, the format of the new number, timeline & milestones, the transition period, outreach & education, and what you need to know to help those with Medicare prepare for their new ID number. We will provide links to resources for you to use, print on-demand, or order for free.
We realize the homeless community you serve has unique challenges and are looking forward to hearing your thoughts on how best to reach this population.
Registration is not required, but we request that you register in advance in order to anticipate participation by sending your name, organization, and email to Brenda.Delgado@cms.hhs.gov. The webinar will last approximately one hour and will include time for questions and answers. We also encourage you to distribute this invitation throughout your networks.
